If you wish to organise an event, you must notify the municipality and, in some cases, apply for a permit.

Apply for an event permit

You must meet several conditions in order to obtain a permit.

Be on time

We would like to make an event possible. It is important that you, as the organizer, submit your application on time. Large events with more than 5 000 visitors must be notified 12 weeks in advance. Smaller events must be notified 8 weeks in advance.

Assessment of permit application

Events can have a lot of influence on the environment of the event. That is why we can ask for a safety, traffic, noise and/or waste plan when applying for a permit.

In the plans you describe the risks, the measures to be taken and the agreements made about safety, traffic, waste/cleaning and noise. You must also describe the roles, tasks and responsibilities.

Based on this, advisers from the police, fire brigade, medical service, noise/event coordination make recommendations for the licensing authorities. This is a draft plan that you must submit with your application. After assessment, we can still ask you for an addition. You can then submit the final plans.

The amount that you have to pay depends on the type of event that you are organising.

You will be notified within 8 to 10 weeks. The municipality may extend this notice period once.
