The province should be notified of short sports events in, on or above a provincial waterway. Short events include sprietlopen (walking or running along a beam across water), paalvechten (fighting on a beam over water) and canoeing competitions. A notification is sufficient if there is no risk to safety and to the smooth flow of water traffic. You must request authorisation if the event presents a risk to safety or to the smooth flow of water traffic. You must also do this if people swimming may present a nuisance or danger to water traffic.
