Are you planning to organise an event on or near provincial waterways? This is only permitted if your event does not endanger the safety and flow of shipping traffic. Nor must your event result in damage to the shore, bridges, quays, locks, etc.
The conditions include:
- You plan to organise a short-term event in, on or above a provincial waterway.
- The provincial authorities manage the waterway.
- The safety and flow of shipping are not jeopardised.
There is no risk of damage to bridges, quays, shores, locks, etc.
You submit the notification to or request permission from the provincial authorities. They can also provide you with further information.
The provincial authorities will take a decision on your application within 8 weeks of receipt.
You can object to the decision on your application within 6 weeks. Do you disagree with the decision? In that case, you can appeal through the courts within 6 weeks.
