Municipality Groningen: Permit or exemption for provincial waterway structures
Are you planning to build, remodel, expand, demolish, cut down trees or change something in your living area? You often need an environmental permit. You apply for all permits or exemptions for your work at once and you will also receive only 1 permit. You can apply at the Omgevingsloket online.

Permit check + application
1. Go to on the online service counter Omgevingsloket online (in Dutch).
2. Run the permit check. You will see whether you need a permit.
3. You can apply for a permit online or in writing. Log in with DigiD (for individuals) or eHerkenning (for businesses).
To process an environmental permit, you pay a percentage of the construction sum as a permit fee to the municipality.
