Municipality Lelystad: Permit for gaming machines and amusement arcades

If you want to install a gaming machine, you need a gaming machine licence. You can only apply for a gaming machine licence only if you operate an amusement arcade or if you have a high-treshold establishment. An establishment is high-treshold if:

• the location is used as a café or restaurant
• you have a valid alcohol and catering licence for this location
• the activities are suitable for persons aged 18 and over

To apply for a gaming machine licence, you also need other permits:

• For a high-treshold establishment, you need a valid alcohol and catering licence.
• For an amusement arcade, you need a valid operating permit for an amusement arcade.

Good to know

• The gaming machine licence is valid for the same period as your alcohol and catering licence.
• The licence is personal: you are the only person who may use it.

• Completed and signed permit application form:  aanvraagformulier aanwezigheidsvergunning
• Copy of a valid ID
• Detailed, dimensioned floor plan (scale 1:100) showing the slot machines
• A document outlining the policy regarding the prevention of gambling addiction

You pay a fee for this service. For more information, contact the municipality.

You will receive a response to your application within 8 weeks.

If you disagree with a municipal decision, you can file an objection. This is a letter explaining why you disagree. The municipality will review the decision and may decide differently.
