SME Innovation Stimulus for Regional and Top Sectors (MIT)
Do you run a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) and do you want to work with other SMEs on innovative research and development (R&D) projects in the Netherlands? You can apply for the SME Innovation Stimulus for Regional and Top Sectors (Mkb-innovatiestimulering Regio en Topsectoren, MIT).
What are the conditions for the MIT subsidy?
The conditions differ for each part of the MIT subsidy (in Dutch), for example:Â
- For R&D cooperation projects (in Dutch), you work with other SMEs to develop or innovate products, production processes, or services.
- For R&D cooperation projects on AI (in Dutch), you work with other SMEs on a project that helps develop artificial intelligence (AI).

How to apply?
Use RVO’s MIT desk finder (in Dutch) to find out where to submit your application.The application periods differ for each part of the MIT subsidy:
- You can apply for R&D cooperation projects from 9 June 2026, 9:00 hours until 15 September 2026, 17:00 hours.
- R&D cooperation projects on AI are closed for applications at the moment. Applications were open from 7 April 2026, 9:00 hours until 26 May 2026, 17:00 hours.
You need eHerkenning level 2+ to apply for R&D cooperation projects.Â
