(Music) venues and organisers for the performing arts that have suffered turnover loss as a result of corona measures can apply for compensation.

Venues and organisers for the performing arts that have suffered turnover loss as a result of corona measures can apply for compensation to the Performing Arts Fund (Fonds Podiumkunsten). Theatres, (pop music) venues and concert halls have been allowed no or smaller audiences for their shows.

Compensation measure 2

This compensation measure is meant for turnover loss suffered as a result of restrictions between 12 and 28 November 2021. Audiences were not allowed to stand, only seating was allowed for at most 1,250 visitors per room. Professional performing arts activities (with legal personality) can apply for a reimbursement of 85% of lost ticket sales during this period. You must deduct any entrance fees you did receive. You could apply for this compensation measure through 23 February 2022.

Compensation measure 3

This compensation measure is meant for turnover loss in the period from 28 November 2021 until 31 January 2022. Until 19 December concerts and shows were only allowed until 17:00 hours and the audience had to be seated with 1.5 metres distance between them. After 19 December concerts and shows were not allowed at all. Professional performing arts activities (with legal personality) can apply for a reimbursement of 85% of lost ticket sales during this period. You must deduct the entrance fees you did receive. Venues that have organised shows without an agent or producer can also apply for this measure. You could apply for this compensation measure through 23 February 2022.

Compensation measure 4

Compensation measure 4 (in Dutch) is meant for turnover loss during the period 1 February through 8 March 2022. Professional performing arts activities (with legal personality) can apply for a reimbursement of 85% of lost ticket sales during this period. You must deduct the entrance fees you did receive.

This measure is meant for concerts and shows that:

  • took place between 1 February and 8 March 2022, but could not be sold at full capacity as a result of corona measures during this period
  • were planned in the period from 1 February thourgh 15 February 2022, but were cancelled as a result of corona measures
  • were planned for the period 1 February through 8 March 2022, but you had to cancel as a result of mandatory quarantine for performers or your staff

Producers who receive multiannual supported by BIS or the Performing Arts Fund are not eligible for this support measure.

How to apply?

You can no longer apply. You could apply for compensation measure 4 from 25 April until 11 May 2022.
