Netherlands Enterprise Agency, RVO
Subsidy or grant

Are you active in the audio-visual or creative sector? You can apply for a subsidy via the Creative Europe Programme.

The Creative Europe Programme contains 3 sub-programmes: the Culture strand,  the Media strand, and the Cross-sectoral strand.

Within the Culture strand you can apply for a subsidy for:

  • European cooperation projects
  • European Networks
  • Pan-European cultural entities (orchestras)
  • Circulation of European literary works (translation, publication, distribution, and promotion of literary works)
  • European Platforms for the promotion of emerging artists

Within the Media strand you can apply for a subsidy for:

  • development, promotion, and distribution of European audio-visual works
  • training courses and workshops for audio-visual professionals

The Cross-sectoral strand is intended for projects with participants from different cultural and creative sectors, such as news media. You can apply for a subsidy, for example:

  • to form journalism partnerships
  • if your project enables knowledge sharing on media literacy
  • if your project provides rapid responses to violations of press and media freedom

When do you qualify?

Your cultural or creative organisation is set up in one of the EU Member States. Companies from candidate states and the European Economic Area (EEA) can join under certain conditions. (pdf). You can find a list of non-EU Participating Countries on the Creative Europe website. Also consult the conditions for the various calls.

How to apply?

You can find calls for funding and tender opportunities on the European Commission's  Funding & Tenders Portal or the Creative Europe Desk NL’s calls overview. Please check the various schemes for their own deadlines for submission.

You can find more information on the application process on the EU’s Funding & Tenders Portal.

In the Netherlands, DutchCulture represents the Creative Europe Programme (in Dutch). They can provide you with information about rules, procedures and deadlines, advice, and guidance on how to submit applications and assistance with finding European partners.
