Do you want to reduce the number of kilometres driven by trucks on Dutch motorways to save costs and reduce CO2? And do you want to work together with other entrepreneurs? If you are in a partnership in which at least 1 entrepreneur has a business in the transport sector, you may be eligible for a subsidy for less truck kilometres in the logistics sector (subsidieregeling samenwerking in de logistieke keten, SiLK).

You can reduce the number of kilometres driven by, for example, bundling loads, avoiding empty runs, reducing distances, or optimising routes. You can use the subsidy to cover costs for staff, external staff, and planning software.

The subsidy is available for a maximum of 75% of the costs involved. You can apply for a minimum of €25,000 and a maximum of €100,000.

What are the conditions for SiLK?

You can apply for the SiLK subsidy if:

  • You work together with at least 2 other entrepreneurs.
  • Your business and the organisations you work with are registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KVK) or have a branch in the Netherlands.
  • At least 1 company in the partnership is a transport company, a shipper, or a carrier with its own fleet.
  • At least 1 company in your partnership has a truck over 3,500 kg (3.5 tonnes) and thus will have to pay the truck toll from 2026.
  • Your project will reduce the number of kilometres driven by trucks in the Netherlands by at least 15,000 kilometres per year, even after the project is finished.
  • Your project takes no longer than 1 year.
  • You and the entrepreneurs you work with have not received SiLK subsidy before.

View all conditions for the SiLK subsidy at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, RVO, in Dutch).
