The SME+ Innovation Fund consists of 3 parts:

  • The Innovation Credit schemeExternal link (in Dutch) is used to stimulate development projects to which financial risks are attached. The Innovation Credit is available for innovative SMEs and SMEs+ that require financing. These businesses must be established in the Netherlands, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba. The minimum project size of the innovation credit is €150,000.Please note: As a result of the corona crisis, conditions for this Innovation Credit scheme have been easedExternal link (in Dutch). Participants get a 6 month extension of interest payments and repayments. You start repayments again on 1 October 2020. Interest on your Innovation Credit will be added to your outstanding balance. Your repayment schedule will be extended. You are not obliged to make use of this extension.
  • The SEED Capital schemeExternal link allows emerging technology and creative entrepreneurs to be assisted by investors to convert their knowledge into suitable products or services. Emerging entrepreneurs can turn to the participating investment fundsExternal link for this.
  • The Dutch Venture Initiative (DVI) investment fund ('Fund-of-Funds') improves the access to the risk capital market for rapidly-growing innovative companies. This investment fund is managed by the European Investment FundExternal link in conjunction with the Regional Venture Capital CompanyExternal link for the eastern part of the Netherlands (PPM Oost)

How to apply?

If you intend to apply for the Innovation Credit schemeExternal link (in Dutch), you could decide to do a quick scanExternal link (pdf, in Dutch) to assess if your plan is sufficiently eligible. Applications for the SME+ Innovation Fund should be submitted to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Companies can continuously apply to the SEED funds.
