What changes?

Do you have an SME private limited company or public limited company? You will have to pay more corporate income tax (vennootschapsbelasting, vpb) as of 2023:

  • The upper limit of the first bracket of the corporate income tax (vpb) will be lowered to €200,000. Currently this is €395,000. Because of this change, a smaller part of your profits will be taxed at the lowest rate.
  • The low corporate income tax rate will go up. From 2023 you pay 19% vpb on the profits that fall in the first corporate income tax bracket. Currently this is 15%. The rate for the second bracket remains 25.8%

For whom?

Entrepreneurs who have a private limited or public limited company.

The change in law is expected to enter into effect on 1 January 2023.

Please note: The effective date of this measure is not yet final. Entry into force is subject to its passing through the Upper and Lower Houses (Eerste en Tweede Kamer) of parliament or proclamation of the Order in Council (Algemene Maatregel van Bestuur, AMvB) or ministerial decree and publication in the Staatsblad or Staatscourant (Government Gazette, in Dutch).
