Minimum wage up per 1 July 2024

What has changed?

Do you employ staff? The amounts of the gross minimum wage and the gross minimum youth wage have gone up on 1 July 2024. The minimum wage has increased to €13.68 per hour. The minimum youth wage has increased by the same percentage (3.09%).

Hourly minimum wage

Since 1 January a statutory minimum wage per hour applies. This means there is no longer a statutory minimum wage per day, week, or month. All employees in the Netherlands are entitled to an hourly minimum wage. As a result, the number of hours worked determines the amount of the monthly wage for someone who earns the minimum wage.

This change in the Minimum wage Act (Wet minimumloon, Wml) has taken effect on 1 July 2024.
