What has changed?

Do you employ staff? The amounts of the gross minimum wage and the gross minimum youth wage have gone up on 1 July 2024 (in Dutch). The minimum wage has increased to €13.68 per hour. The minimum youth wage has increased by the same percentage (3.09%).

Hourly minimum wage

Since 1 January a statutory minimum wage per hour applies. This means there is no longer a statutory minimum wage per day, week, or month. All employees in the Netherlands are entitled to an hourly minimum wage. As a result, the number of hours worked determines the amount of the monthly wage for someone who earns the minimum wage.

For whom?

  • all entrepreneurs who employ staff

This change in the Minimum wage Act (Wet minimumloon, Wml) has taken effect on 1 July 2024.
