No forced opening hours for shops
On this page
What changes?
Do you run a shop and do you have agreed opening hours in your contract? Then you will not have to comply with any one-sided changes in opening hours (for example by the shopkeepers' association) if you have not agreed to these in advance. If you have agreed to certain opening hours in your contract, for example staying open on Thursday evening (koopavond), you will have to stick to these.
For whom?
- Shopkeepers
- Shopkeers' associations
- Homeowners' associations (VvE)
When?
It is not yet known when the law on opening hours for shops will be final.
Please note: The effective date of this measure is not yet final. Entry into force is subject to its passing through the upper and lower houses of parliament or proclamation of the Order in Council (Algemene Maatregel van Bestuur, AMvB) or ministerial decree and publication in the Staatsblad or the Staatscourant (in Dutch).
