Statutory minimum wage to go up 10% in 2023

What changes?

Do you employ staff? The statutory minimum wage will go up by 10.15%.

Benefits linked to the minimum wage, such as AOW, welfare, and the Wajong (Young Disabled Persons benefit), will also increase.

Previously it was announced the statutory minimum wage was to increase by 7.5% in 3 annual steps. The increase of 10.15% will now be effective on 1 January 2023.

When?

It is expected this change will enter into effect on 1 January 2023.

Please note: The effective date of this measure is not yet final. Entry into force is subject to its passing through the upper and lower houses of parliament or proclamation of the Order in Council (Algemene Maatregel van Bestuur, AMvB) or ministerial decree and publication in the Staatsblad or Staatscourant (Government Gazette, in Dutch).
