Employers in the Netherlands must observe environmental factors in the workplace that may influence the health of their employees. This could, for example, involve:

  • climate (cold, heat, draught, humidity levels, circulation of fresh air, sunlight)
  • light
  • noise
  • vibrations
  • optical radiation, non-ionising radiation (electromagnetic fields) and ionising radiation

In a risk inventory and evaluation (RI&E) employers describe the risks to their employees. They indicate which measures they take in the Action Plan attached to the RI&E.
