Are you an SME and do you want to register a trademark or model? You may be eligible for a subsidy from the Ideas Powered for business SME Fund to partly cover the application costs to protect your intellectual property (IP) rights.

The SME Fund is carried out by the European Intellectual Property Office, EUIPO, on the initiative of the European Commission. You can receive a reimbursement of up to 75% of the application costs.

Who can apply?

SMEs in the Netherlands can apply for 2 types of vouchers, depending on the IP activity you register for:

  • Voucher 1 for trademark and design IP registration fees. The amount for this voucher is at most €1,500.
  • Voucher 2 for patent application fees. The maximum amount for this voucher is €750.

You can apply for no more than 2 vouchers, 1 of each type.

How to apply?

To apply you first need to login to your SME Fund account. If you do not yet have an account, you need to register first. You can then complete and send in your application form. You can apply from 10 January 2022 to 16 December 2022.

If your application is granted, you will receive notification and your voucher. You can redeem the voucher after you have paid for the activities with the form available in your SME Fund account. Note that you need to convert your voucher within 4 months. This can be extended with another 2 months.
