Do you want to invest in a new production line to produce electrolysers, batteries, or solar panels or essential components for them? Or do you want to convert an existing production line or to expand its production capacity? You can apply for the Investment Subsidy for Manufacturing Industry Climate Neutral Economy (Investeringssubsidie Maakindustrie Klimaatneutrale Economie, IMKE).

What are the conditions for the IMKE?

You can apply for the IMKE subsidy if:

  • Your business is established in the Netherlands or has a subsidiary in the Netherlands.
  • The project takes place in a member state of the European Economic Area (EEA).
  • You have not started the project before application.
  • You have not made any commitments, such as payments and orders, before your application.
  • Your project will start within 6 months after you receive the subsidy.
  • The project takes no longer than 5 years.
  • Your project has to support the Dutch economy or other Dutch interests.

You can get more subsidy if your project takes place in a supported area in the Netherlands. View the regional aid map for the Netherlands (1 January 2022 – 31 December 2027) to see which areas are as supported areas. You can also get more subsidy if your business is an SME.

How to apply?

You can apply for the Climate-Neutral Economy Manufacturing Investment Subsidy (in Dutch) to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). There are several subsidies:

  • You can apply for the subsidy for production lines for electrolysers from 1 October 2024, 9:00 hours until 31 January 2025, 17:00 hours.
  • You can apply for the subsidy for production lines for batteries from 1 October 2024, 9:00 hours until 31 January 2025, 17:00 hours.
  • You can apply for the subsidy for production lines for solar panels from 2 December 2024, 9:00 hours until 31 January, 17:00 hours.
