Bus lane dispensation for taxi drivers

This information is provided by

Netherlands Enterprise Agency, RVO

In some municipalities you can use bus lanes when driving a taxi. However, in order to do so, you require a permit or dispensation from the municipal or provincial authority.

In some municipalities you may use bus or tram lanes when driving a taxi with a taxi operator licence. However, in other municipalities you need a separate bus lane dispensation (busbaanontheffing) from the municipal or provincial authority.

The application procedure and conditions may differ from one municipality or province to another. In general you will need to provide at least a copy of your driver’s licence and of your taxi driver’s card (taxipas).

Consult your municipal or provincial authority for the application procedure and conditions for a bus lane dispensation.
