Do you work in the field of visual arts or in the cultural heritage sector? If so, you can apply for a grant from the Mondriaan Fund (Mondriaan Fonds). The fund has several grant schemes for cultural creators, organisations, and projects in the Netherlands. The fund also promotes contemporary art from the Netherlands abroad.

Who can apply?

The Mondriaan Fund offers grants to various institutions, platforms, and individuals, such as:

  • visual artists
  • curators, critics, theorists, and art observer
  • owners of a cultural heritage object or collection
  • participants of an art initiative or collective
  • commissioners who want to sponsor publicly accessible visual arts projects
  • podcast makers
  • social content creators
  • publishers and magazines
  • museums, art ,or heritage institutions
  • galleries
  • art venues
  • online platforms for a curated digital domain

Organisations from both the Netherlands and abroad may apply. But your work, project, or other grant purpose must contribute to the visual arts or cultural heritage sector in the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, or Saba. Use the Mondriaan Fund Application help to find and apply for grants. Each grant scheme has its own deadline. You can apply through the Mondriaan Fund’s digital application system. You will need to create an account to open the application form.
