A company may carry out more than 1 environmentally harmful activity (in Dutch). For each of these activities, you need an environment and planning permit, or you must submit a notification. The Environmental Activities Decree (Besluit activiteiten leefomgeving, Bal, in Dutch) lists the rules for each industry, which notifications you need to make, and whether you need permits.
Check if you need an environment and planning permit and apply
Go to the online service counter Omgevingsloket (in Dutch) to check if you need an environment and planning permit (omgevingsvergunning) or make a notification. In the Omgevingsloket you can see which rules. You can then use the Omgevingsloket to apply online for an environment and planning permit or submit a notification. You also have a duty of care and a duty to provide information.
Modification of an environment and planning permit
Do you want to do perform more environmentally damaging activities than are stated on your current environment and planning permit? Then you must change the permit via the Omgevingsloket (in Dutch).
Online application procedure via Message Box
Message Box has not yet been linked to the Omgevingsloket. This means that you cannot apply for an environment and planning permit for environmentally damaging activities or make a notification using Message Box. Message Box is a secure mail system that allows entrepreneurs to exchange digital messages with Dutch government agencies.
